Off switch for pass airbag

Has anyone done this? I know you need to get permission through NHST, but past that it would seem the only requirements to facilitate would be a replacement airbag module (part #198674 ) and add in the switch (46481878). There were mentions of this years ago, but nowhere I have seen confirmation anyone was successful. Just curious if anyone on the forum had insight.

I would love to be able to give my son a ride from time to time.

What do you mean, done this? Do you not have a passenger off switch and you're looking to add one? I thought they all had them.

Interesting. the US market cars should not have been equipped with them from the factory.

I am under the impression that Tom is not based in the US but could be completely wrong.

I'm located in New Hampshire in the good Ol' U S of A! Murica'

So do I have an oddball car that came equipped with a airbag off switch in the US or is that normal?

No, it's a factory job that uses the ignition key to operate. Set right into the dash as part of a molded/frenched opening. It's also referenced in the manual.

Nah, I didn't need any of that with to rotary.

What is even weirder is that you mention it is referenced in the manual. In my manual it specifically states that you CANNOT disable the pass airbag. Can you confirm if you car has seen time north of the border?

Rotary, HAHAHA!

I got a full vehicle history report when I bought it and it's been in the USA since new. It was purchased new in Florida in 2002, then shipped to California and then to me in New Hampshire. I guess she's just a special girl.
