calling BORA owners

Centennary is 2014, and there's precious little here in USA to centralize communciations between Bora owners and enthusiasts to maximize potential interactions and fun. Please group up here, there, everywhere--but let everyone know who you are, what Bora you have, what you want to do about it, and anything else that would improve mutual support.
In the USA, 1973 was a huge year for 4.9s (don't know how many prior/other 4.7s ever got over here as US cars), and relatively pure still. Fortunately, as in CA, cars prior to say 1975 fall beyond smog inspection. VERY strong runners when driven regularly.
--Please REV IT UP and get some contact cross-fert' going ASAP.

I'm even more remote in Ontario Canada. Not a Bora but a Khamsin in the stable

Cheers

Canadian V8 club?

Possibly just calling Bora owners was too exclusive.
On second thought, considered Maserati Heritage V8 but
then some Merak owners felt left off... an unintended result..

Khamsin is an amazing and wonderful sibling. My emphasis
was intended originally to Bora, as it's my own addiction, but
really much better to be inclusive than ex' -- and just hoping
to rekindle a grouping of contact for the Heritage cars (which
the new car dealers don't seem to be able to support much).

Great fun to see ANY real Maserati fans show up to events.
As well, good to have supportive contacts. Thanks for any input.

Does maseratisource sell cars? Or will they just part them out? That would be a sad fate.

>> Bora 510 Congratulations... Was that not the low miles OR car that Ivan had? Great looking car! Please advise as to any shareable Bora resources, from resurrected Bora Register to parts suppliers. My US4.9 '626 has been always in SoCal, and there's not many here... just a few. Keep us informed re your activities and discoveries. Best regards, NE (highwaybora@yahoo.com)

Bora 510 was the low mile example (26,300) as seen on BAT and eBay. I purchased it from a collector in NY. Car is in excellent original condition but is now having some mechanical housekeeping "sorting" done at Algar in Philadelphia. I don't know of any other Bora owners or many other resources, anxious to learn more about these cars though. I've always liked the lines, interior and rarity of these cars which led to the hunt and purchase.

Dean (Bora 510) -- Again, congratulations. Any car may need some sorting after owner changeover. You didn't say your concerns, but likely minor. Ivan Ruiz correctly points to doing regular LHM system maintenance about every ten years. I just did mine lately, not really tough at all. Details on request. It can get much worse if allowed to degenerate completely, but still not the kind of issue some writers might make of it. These are just great and nearly bulletproof cars. No surprise there'd be a few small items. Also, mentioned overly is the topic of the waterpump...but it can be handled, R&R, and the bearing replaced with a modern version that's much better. Always better to deal with ahead of time, as with most things, however. Please keep in touch. There had been an active Bora Register, but it needs revival by new host. Drive it in good health. Ned. Greetings, fellow tifosi. My glorious excuse for joining this vibrant forum is a 1974 4.9 Bora #117/770. This is my first and only car, all earlier proprietary forays into automobility having been confined to the Italian sport bikes that continue to clutter my garage in various states of disassembly, from a bevel 900SS Ducati and a Laverda 1200 Mirage, via a Moto Guzzi Le Mans IV, to a red race-framed Ducati 916. I own a complete set of metric Snap-on wrenches and sockets, and am available on a pro bono consulting basis to anyone desirous of sharing accounts and experiences of sublimating a normal heterosexual libido in thrall to sadomasochistic delusions of transportation by moody, soulful, and exotic Mediterranean conveyances. And after we finish complaining, I’ll climb into my Dodge Ram SRT-10 daily driver and ride away in full confidence of arrival at my destination.

It’s going back to factory green in keeping with my name, as soon as I can afford a decent paint job. I agree that accommodations are tight, but that can be refreshing after driving a full-size pickup.
