Hi Maserati Enthusiasts, After a tought job, my website is finally finished. You will find all the cars imported in France by Jean Thépenier and John Simone from 3500 GT to the Biturbo production (the son of Jean Thépenier, Jean-loup tried to continue the aventure for a while until the late 80's). I would be very happy to receive photos of cars that immigrate around the world to illustrate my site. I have noticed that only few stayed in France. It is only the beginning, so it needs to be updated, some informations are missing but I am working on it with Fabio Collina. I am writing on the Paris Motorshow page, and will try to update a year every week or ewey two weeks, from 1958 to 1980. Best Regards Angus The name of the site is : THEPENIER-MASERATI-REGISTER http://www.thepenier-maserati-register.com/index.html Last edited by Angus81; 04-09-2012 at 11:34 AM. |

Great job... I realy loved the 5000GT pics....with the detail of the bodywork assembly-welding.. this is "haute couture".... |

I was surprised to see that the Bora outsold the Merak by quite a margin (47 vs. 34) in France. Three times as many Meraks were made, but apparently the French preferred the other cars with a C-114 engine; the SM and the Ligier. Was Thepenier the exclusive importer in France, or were there other channels as well? Best, Gabriel '74 Merak |
