Default FD Springs Intstalled - 08 QP Sport

Since I took delivery of my 08" Sport in August I've been looking at a car that had way too much fenderwell gap. Even after installing the Nutek wheels and larger tires, the car still just didn't look right. As you guys know, those of us unlucky enough to have cars with fixed perch shocks had no lowering options (other than swapping Skyhook for coil-overs). Well, as he's been promising for months, Jeff at FD finally came through for me. I received the springs and spacers a couple of weeks ago and took my car to a local shop that just put some H&R springs on my wife's X6. Since they did a great job with the BMW, I figured that they could handle this project too. I had no idea what I was in for. After a stripped lower bolt on the LF strut, some part number issues, and all the fun things associated with a dead battery, I finally have a lowered car!

I really like the new lower stance of the car. The rear can probably come down another 10 or 15mm, but it's at least 100% better than stock. The ride is pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Not harsh by any means, but definitely firmer. I've only had the car back since Thursday, so I haven't really had a chance to properly test the new handling characteristics. I'll update this post after I've been able to push it a little.

It has been posted many times, but I have to say that Jeff at Formula Dynamics really knows how to take care of his customers. I had a little issue that required him to ship me another set of springs, and without hesitation he overnighted another set. I consider myself a pretty tough customer, and Jeff met my expectations from every angle. Thanks Jeff! I'm pretty sure you'll be getting some more of my money someday!

Here's some pics.

Great post. And if you haven't already installed the DBW and ECU software modules, make those the next things you give Jeff money for. It's the perfect xmas present to ones self.

Thanks S.A.T.

FWIW, I've recently worked with these guys on a Maserati Quattroporte Sport Suspension and I have to say that they have been great to work with and support their customers as well. Keep it up guys!

Best Regards,

Thanks Steve. I happen to have the DBW sitting in the garage as I type this. I'm looking forward to the long weekend to do the install. Based on all the feedback available here on ML, I think I'm going to be very pleased!
