Really? Getting video out of the factory unit is a simple task? That is awesome news. Could you elaborate on how that can be done please? Is it a RGB/VGA/Component signal that gets sent to the Sharp screen? I can see from the spec sheet of the screen here
http://www.distrib-informatique.com/...Q065T5AR01.pdf
that pin 15, 16, 17 and 19, 20, 21 are two sets of RGB signals that go to the screen. But I don't know if these RGB signals are the same RGB signals carried in VGA cables, or Component cables, or whatever else...

If I can simply take the RGB output from the factory screen, and plug it into, say, an Android tablet with video-in (Parrot Asteroid Smart is the only one I am aware of, and it's not exactly a "tablet", but it at least is possible), then we can retain the factory amplifier/radio/trip computer/setup screen, while having an Android tablet for music, video and nav. The Android would simply output to the CDC input or AV input of the factory nav unit. I am imagining such a tablet might be thin enough so that there would be no need to relocate the factory nav unit, but rather just pushing it in a bit, to create enough space to accommodate the depth of the Android tablet....

You will need a RGB to composite adapter if you are going that route. It needs to take RGB in and convert to Composite out. I have a couple of custom built pieces if needed. You wont be able to move the screen back and still use the buttons but you can remove the lcd screen and use that space.

Hi Monty, nice work on the QP... Can you share what it took to get the steering wheel controls to work? Thanks

Hi Monty. Just wondering how much you would sell one of these RGB to composite converters for? Thanks
