Hi guys. Newbie here. Quick question. I have this very enjoying problem with my radio (Bose System QP 2009). Every time I start my QP or turn the ignition on, radio starts playing. For some reason it is always on. I tried to turn it off (mute) and save my setting, but unsuccessfully. Do you know if I can change that so I is off by default? Thanks |

Thanks for your help. I asked the same question BOSE tech support and this is what I got from them, in case anybody is interested. I didn't check it yet though. ----------------------------------------- Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Bose Automotive Music System in your 2009 Maserati Quattroporte. In answer to your question, we tried duplicating this with the Media System on our desk and we believe this will work. We believe you want to have the system power up in FM mode but not produce any audio. By default when the system is powered up it will start to produce the audio from the last source that was selected, even if it was in mute mode when the vehicle was turned off. If you want to start the car and have the system turn-on without producing any audio the best way would be to select CD as the source (make sure no CD is in the drive) before you shut the car off. This will force the system to boot up in CD mode. No audio will be produced if no CD is inserted in the drive. I hope this resolves the issue.Thank you for contacting Bose Corporation. ------------------------------------------- |

That may well work, but it is ridiculous to have to change modes to CD and remove a CD to turn off the system. As I said in my first post, do what I do and hold the on/off button for a few seconds which will completey power down the Bose system. (the screen goes black) If you just push it for a second that only mutes it and when you re start the car the sound will come on. You must hold the button down until the screen goes black. |

A QP has a radio????? ![]() Nick Drive your car like it was meant to be driven. It may be a piece of art, but life is too short to just look at it sitting still. |

Mine is a 2007 but I have a setting that I can change that sets the volume I hear at start up. I know this works because I just made mine louder. I'm not sure if a 2007 and 2009 have the same system though but that sounds like a pain to have to do each time.
