Default My New 2007 QP Sport GT--Formula Dynamics

I just recently purchased this car and want to thank you all for your information regarding upgrades and enhancements, this forum is excellent!!!

Based on many your threads, I got the DBW installed about two weeks ago from Jeff at FD. This was money well spent.......I can't believe what a difference this has made(a must if you dont have this). It drives like a completely different car!!! Jeff was extremley helpful during this process

I also ordered and should be receiving my Larini mufflers on Monday. I decided to forgo the x pipe for the time being for the fear that it may be to loud since this is my daily driver. I figure if its not the sound I desire, I will add the x pipe down the road.

I would like to post a sound clip once installed but am a rookie at this. Gentlemen, whats the most effective way of capturing or making a sound clip?

I'm also bringing my car on the track(Thunderhill) in 3 weeks and would like to take a video. Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated as well

Thanks again for all your great information.

It might be a bit loud for you with the X-Pipe. I just added the mufflers and
the X pipe this week. Was out last night at it is loud. Not sure I could stand it
with out the back cats for the last piece(Jeff said it is very loud). I am learning to control the sound with the gear box which is pretty easy on a manual stick. But the X tube gives it that sweat Ferrari sound. Way better then any stock Ferrari for sure. See the post under added Larini Boxes and x for last nights drive update.

Congrats on your new car Gio! You will love the Larini boxes, they are SWEET!.. the sound is very nice sounding rumble, and it sounds much better when you are behind the maserati in another car. For me, I have the DBW/ECM/Larini Boxes - And I also have it in the Automatica, it made a huge difference in the car, totally drives like a different car, much more sporty. As for the X-pipe, I'm not sure if it makes it louder, I have a stock X-pipe on mine I think. Try it with the Larini Boxes, and if you feel its okay, then add it later on. But definitely you did the right thing, I have no regrets, and love my upgrades.
Good luck with your car pal.

Thanks Big Foot, I've def. seen yours on you tube and on this forum....I will try and video my new Larini mufflers sometime next week, thanks again for the tip. Love the sound of your car.

Tom, Great write up on your ride last night. It will be interesting to see if I get the Ferrari sound I so desire minus the x pipe. Its a fine line especially since I will be driving it daily and live in a small quiet town. Should
be getting them installed tom. afternoon and will let you know my thoughts.

MaseratiGSGB, I did by this car from Maserati of Sacramento. Those guys treated me quite well. Let me know if your ever in the Marin area, maybe we can hook up sometime.

I added the Larni x-pipe to my identical car after already having Tubi boxes on it. It did not make a huge difference in volume (overall loudness). The car is still "neighborhoodable" and sounds great.

I'd throw them all on at the same time.

The X-pipe definitely helps to get the Ferrari sound out of the setup and adds a bit of volume. Initially it will be just a bit louder as well until the system gets coated with carbon, then it will quiet down just a bit.

Remember that another consideration is how old your car is in regards to volume. A 2002 4200 with miles will be louder as the cats aren't as quite as a 2006 with low miles. Some people have even blown out their secondary cats and don't know it! Not a huge consideration but there can be a bit of differences between cars for these reasons.

Best Regards,
-- Jeff

Is there an audible difference between the stock Sport GT x-pipe and the Formula Dynamics one?

Yes, there is certainly a bit of weight, power and noise difference between the stock Sport GT pipe and the Larini X-Pipe.

In regards to the GS vs Larini X-Pipe there is not as big of a difference and so I don't believe that it's a needed replacement on the GS.

Best Regards,
-- Jeff
