I have a maserati spyder 2002 that I just bought. It didnt come with the naviagtion cd's. I was wondering where I can purcahse them. Also I looked in the trunk and there is a cd changer. Do I load the cds in the trunk or next to the shift knob. I am confused.

Music CD's go in the trunk CD changer and the NAVI disks go in the receptacle under the center console armrest. Good luck with your new purchase!

J123,

Enter Navigation CD under Advanced Search and you'll get your answers. Lot's of opinions, mostly though and I agree that unless you're in Europe and/or like to constantly update CD's the factory system isn't much good here.

Pretty much forget about the NAV ystem if here in the US. The CD's have not been updated for a long time and will not be updated in the future. Your best bet is e-bay if you really want them. You can play CD's from the player under your armrest as well, which is handy when you just want to pop one in while you are driving without having to mess around with the changer.

Also, make sure the NAV is activated in the first place before hunting for CD's. Lot of threads on it but basically the little dish symbol on the control panel needs to light up green. If not your system is probably not activated.

nav is activated. I see that there is a whole set of DVD's-dealer wanted 700$ for it. DO i load them all at once or one at a time for the region I am in....I only need Northeast like NEw york NJ area....anyone have a cd the can sell me or something or where i can get it for cheaper than that. I heard that the nav sucks just like in my M3 it was horrible. but for emergencies i would like it. any help would be great

The CDs go in one at a time - the CD for the region you're currently in stays in the system.

I'm honestly not sure it is even worth it for emergencies. I've seen the BMW system, and no question this is worse. I keep my tom tom in the glove box in case I get lost!

I would really, really not recommend spending $700 on the CDs. Any portable GPS system would do a better job! I've occasionally seen the discs for sale on eBay - if you want one to make your car complete I'd just wait for one to show up, and spend the money you save on something else.

I think I will do exactly that...I spoke to formula dynamics and the guy was awesome...He said that the number one upgrade for the spyder would be the drive by wire...what do you guys think??
thanks

Early Maseratis have the worst nav system ever. Save your money and buy a $200 Garmin NUVI with up-to-date maps...and other toys.

Default Nav CD's

I have a complete set of CD's which were never used. I made the mistake of thinking all I needed were the cd's when I had my 2002 Spyder. I would be willing to let them go for $50 plus freight.

Default Sold.

I'll take those nav CD's. Even though I use a Garmin I'd like to have the set so the car is complete.

Thanks!

Welcome to the community, by the way.

Try out the search function. You'll see that I had the same request when I got my Coupe.

Those CDs are unusable in the U.S. - I'm just trying to complete my car setup for if/when I sell it and move up to a newer model.

And the drive-by-wire upgrade is a must -- assuming you have a CC and not a GT.
