Agreed.

I wasn't implying it was the dealership that was the issue.

I found a couple of screws hidden in behind the clock (clock and vent module just popped out), but it appears as though there are some hidden screws at the bottom as well.

Anyone know the trick to removing the panel?
pull clock out.2 phillips screws there on each side. then remove rubber from cup holders and youll see 2 more screws.if you have the new auto then just pull the shifter handle straight up and it will remove.now carefully remove that console to reveal 2 more screws at the bottom of the wood grain dash that holds the raio. then pull gently forward and your able to get your info.
if any of you need help i mod the hell out of maserati's for my local dealer and can help you out with questions like this.

If we were having to get radio codes from MNA on a regular basis we would likely use one of these aftermarket sources. We document radio codes and the security pin number on every car that comes through new or used and it is very rare that we are required to contact MNA as we have them on file. I do agree with your point however. As the representative from MN stated we just supply them to the client as needed. Its a shame many of the dealers aren't willing to but forth a little extra effort.

Funny..my dealer pulled the same crap on me... $200 to get the code...

The other service manager called me back and says $65.00.

They also said my oil was over filled and messed up the MAF sensor that is not covered under warranty...

So.. sorry for the stupid question, but there is a 4 digit radio code that differs from the codes listed on the two code cards that came with the car?

No; It's just that some people have lost their cards, or if they bought a car secondhand it may not have come with the appropriate cards.

code cards

Am I right in that people are taking about radio code for the later gs models without the NIT module (SATNAV TV monitor)?

I dont have any code cards (to enable to start car in emergency) -how does one obtain them? I am in UK.

007 - I believe we were originally talking about the QP - but all of the cars have a radio code of some sort, no matter which radio you have.

My dealer in Japan got the codes from Maserati at no charge when I did my last service.

Sounds like a no brainer but I find it ridiculous that Maserati in North America charges dealers for finding out the radio codes. I am sure the guys back in Modena wouldn't be happy to know that.

The original post on how to find your radio code was referring to the Blaupunkt radio in a QP.

Many new car stereos have a "radio code". The code is an anti-theft measure that is designed to prevent someone from stealing your radio by in theory making the radio useless to them without the radio code.

Unfortunately you can buy the radio code for any car stereo for a few bucks on the Internet which makes the anti-theft value equal questionable.

The radio code is 4 digits, not 5, so I think you probably don't have it. May I suggest contacting your local Maserati dealer?

I didn't have my radio code and when I needed it, the local dealer here in Tokyo supplied them to me within a few days.

Radio Code:

In my case, I found the Code behind the Battery Cover Place
Battery is in the Trunk (Right Side of the Trunk). Just see the clothing cover to hide the battery and the codes were written/printed there.

2. MASERATI CAR RADIO CODES - Online Service

I think this cost less tan $25.00 (I did not try it)

You need to get the internal numbers from the Radio. There are videos in youtube to get the stereo out and check the number.

Good Luck.
