One other variable to consider in your coverage is how much liability coverage are you buying. We live in a very litigious society at the moment and the attention on those with wealth because of the Occupy movement is high. If you're in an accident, even if it's not your fault, you're going to want plenty of coverage to pay a big court settlement. Like I said, even if it's not your fault, that still isn't going to stop some ambulance chasing lawyer from dragging you into court and portraying you as a Maserati-driving fat cat with plenty of money to pay medical bills for some put-upon, under-privileged member of some protected status group litigant. I think it's worth it to buy extra liability coverage on the car and then I have an umbrella policy. |
