It went of without a hitch and she was more than happy when i got the car, Good luck with both!!

Interesting to hear someone else went through the same negotiations with their wife. I initially raised the option of an Aston Martin which produced quite a hostile response so things were more cordial when it came to the maserati.

I'm sorry all if anyone takes offense to this. But since when does the wife has any say on the car you buy? I'm 43 and single..... Just ended a 14 year old off and on "marriage" and she had no say in the car purchases I made. She just got a new 5 series every 4 years and she was happy. Hmmm I see a the pattern. Cars<wives.

No offense taken. LOL. We could create an endless topic for "spouses vs. our cars".

I'll spare the details but we aren't having "real" marital troubles over this...just playful banter with a tinge of truth in both of our positions. She's looking at short-term goals for our family and I'm looking at long-term "bucket-list" things. My practical side agrees with her while my impractical side is gleeful that I've gotten to have a "passionate affair with a temperamental supermodel".

Someday I'll post the SMS exchange we had when I was at the dealer (and she was out of town). I didn't pick up that she was being sarcastic when she said "that seems like a reasonable price".

I've had a fruitful corporate career - ie. the car isn't going to bankrupt us but I'm now doing a startup that's still in the development (read as "hemorrhaging") phase. Once the company becomes financially stable or at the very least, when I have some income (or an exit), I'll look at buying another one - maybe a Kubang...

...just kidding

My bride a 2009 QP S is enroute via enclosed transport. Will my start-up or even the first drive recording sound like that or is that only the GT sound.

Dave, it looks like you were driving in automatic mode. You've got to switch out of automatic and go to the paddle shifters on those country roads. The car will never get out of second or third gear but the sound of the engine winding at 6,000 rpms is amazing and much more responsive.

Not to be too morbid, but I had visions of you videotaping your own head on collision. I liked your video diary of your fling with the Italian supermodel.

LOL thanks @russarch
Unless I steered with my knees (in which case, you'd see that head-on collision), I couldn't shift and hold a camera at the same time.

@gettemas, I've heard some amazing exhaust notes for the QP and I'm sure you'll be in love. Someone else on the forum would know if it's the same exhaust as the GT.

Oh man, that first clip really makes me miss living in Atlanta. Such interesting roads there, in the piedmont. You're a lucky guy, Dave!

....not to mention that there is now officially salt on the roads up here. :(

BTW, I bet you'll take about the same hit on the car whether you sell it now or in 3-6 months, so why not keep it for a while longer? That way you'll end up paying less per (s)mile. More economical, smarter!

And that's why we get the cars before the wife. Stronger argument to keep them that day

My wife loves the car so much, I can't get her out of the driver's seat. I couldn't even get her to ride in my Porsche Turbo.
