Trickle Charge

I only driver my 2015 Quattroporte about once a week. Is it suggested that the trickle charge be plugged when not in use? Has anyone used it? Thank you

My GT has a cigarette lighter in the trunk space that I use when not being driven, it is always connected.

Hard wiring to the battery is usually a PI the A...

trickle charger

if you're losing certain functions because it is not daily driver or vehicle not turning over it is surely worth it. my vehicle would lose easy exit feature, radio pre programs.the car dumps what it considers useless data to save crucial data when voltage low. have dealership hard wire to battery.trickle charge will prolong battery life, after hardwired you'll see a small unobtrusive plug coming from battery just connect/disconnect. saves headaches for sure!

I plug in my GTS when I I have driven it for a week. These car are VERY electronic intensive. Keeping the battery up will save you headaches in the future.

i put my car away for the winter and leave it on a trickle battery. Just plug it in and not have to worry about starting it up. I took this same approach on my Ferrari for 10 years and never had an issue starting it up after 5 months.

I have not had mine that long but based off the posts here I bought a trickle charger. Will not use it when the weather is bad, so it may sit for a while. Easy enough to use.

As I have had as many as four 'leisure' cars, my Maserati Spyder and three Ferraris, none of them is adequately exercised even during driving season - spring/summer/early autumn - and all are stored from November to late March/early April. So all of them have always been on trickle charge. Zero problems.

I want very little out of life, only the best, and there's very little of that

Hey folks. I just got my CTEK trickle charger and currently using the alligator clips and shutting the trunk on the wire to keep the trunk light off... I don't want to shut the trunk and crush the wire for long, so a)does the trunk light go out eventually if the trunk is not completely shut? b) is there a way to tape off the trunk light switch? I tried a few and couldn't find where the switch is located. I would like to hard wire the quick connector to the battery, but it doesnt solve my trunk closing issue.... thanks in advance.

closing trunk on trickle wire

don't worry just close the trunk on wire, there are depressions on either side of trunk lip;i set wire there and fully close w/no problems. if you tug wire w/trunk fully closed you'll feel play, just be sure not to run wire near trunks lock latch.
