Default Sharpie on beautiful tan Mas leather

OK...so someone (not sure who the guilty party is) got sharpie marker on my back seat.

I almost had heart failure. I tried my leather cleaner and bought one especially for ink stains. I might as well have used plain tap water.

Finally, after several hail-mary's I tried nail polish remover. It worked! All signs of the mark removed! HOWEVER, I would recommend using very very little on the spot. I did notice some of the leather dye seemed to come off on the cotton swab, but it was not enough to cause any discoloration. Thank God I did not need much. Followed with leather conditioner and my seat looks good as new.

Now I don't have to hurt anyone.

Great tip thanks, I found a slight tear in the leather between the back seats, which can be covered by the rear arm rest. Trying to decide if it is worth repairing....

Any repair shops in the San Jose, Ca. area that the forum can recommend?

Next time, try Goof Off, forget the nail polish remover.

Why? Seems to me that the nail polish remover worked for her quite well. If it ruined the leather, I could see you making your comment, but in light of the fact that it worked without issue, I don't get the point.

Nail polish remover is mostly Acetone.
