Seems like the engine (at least for the higher end lines) will be developed in-house by former Ferrari F1 engine chief Paolo Martinelli. Suspensions, brakes, steering will be developed in-house to keep the "Maserati feel" MY2005 Quattroporte 4.2 Duo Select/Nero - Formula Dynamics By-wire enhancement - Formula Dynamics Anti-sway bar - Larini X-pipe (traded) - Larini Valved Mufflers - Full audio upgrade (Focal speakers/woofers, Carrozzeria DEH-P01) - LED Tail lights - Carbon Paddle Shift - Sport GTS 20inch rims MY2005 Gransport/Nero (traded) - Formula Dynamics By-wire enhancement - Bertocchi Front&Center pipes |

The interior is classic Maserati, in fact a little too classic for me. I was expecting some new twists and turns. Maybe when I get the chance to look closer I'll see a few. So far so good! Price??? |

Not bad, actually. Reminds me of a few different SUVs though. If I ever get an SUV, it'll be the Kubang! Lol

not too impressed by the looks...as already mentioned above the good news is in the motor department: "the Kubang will be offered with a new generation of "high-tech Maserati propriety engines" designed in house. The work is being led by Paolo Martinelli, Maserati’s Head of Powertrain Department. Prior to work at Maserati, Martinelli served as engine chief of Ferrari’s Formula One racing team... and for nearly 30 years at Ferrari... and will be produced in Maranello by Ferrari".... they certainly took the right decision there! |

Paolo Martinelli (born September 29, 1952 in Modena, Italy) is an engineer best known for his position as head of Scuderia Ferrari's Engine Department from 1994 to 2006. Career Martinelli studied Mechanical Engineering at Bologna University, graduating in 1978. He joined Ferrari immediately, at first working on engine design for the company's production cars. In 1994 he was appointed head of the Formula One team's Engine Department, where he took the decision to ditch the commitment to running V12 engines in favour of V10s. The first V10-powered Ferrari raced in 1996, and the team used this configuration to win five Drivers' and six Constructors' Championships before rules were brought in stipulating the use of V8s for 2006. In October 2006, Martinelli moved to an executive role within Fiat, Ferrari's parent company. His position in Ferrari was taken over by Gilles Simon. |

The styling is perfect for the target market...'soccer moms', nothing too weird or funky looking. Let's hope they make billions of Yuan (the soon to be official ccy of Italy...lol) and plough some of that into improving their QP and GT cars.

| The photos I saw came from the Kubang-specific website. They weren't exactly easy to find but they're there.

i think its very similar to the cayenne, the looks wont make anyone go gaga over it, but like the cayenne i hope once you drive it , you realize how good it is , i just hope the kubang performs like a tall sports car.

Performance: Unless this thing comes in a higher-line model that rivals the Cayenne Turbo S, there is no way I would even consider buying it. |
