| The car is pretty pointless in my opinion, but why do you think it isn't "as good as the tributo Ferrari"?

If this works Sergio will introduce a Maserati tribute car by Ferrari and a Ferrari tribute car from Maserati. Limited versions of course, meaning limited to clueless people who buy them. 2006 GranSport Grigio Alfieri/Nero (FD-DBW, FD Sport Springs, CF Paddles by Valence all installed by ECS of Virginia) 2004 Cadillac XLR Silver/Black (going strong) 1991 Alfa-Romeo 164L Silver/Nero (the other Pininfarina QuattroPorte) 2005 Quattorporte Blu Nettuno/Cuoio (Gone to parts unknown) 2002 Coupe CC Quarzo Mettalic/Cuoio (now the property of our own PhillyMaser16) |

I think it's rather cute and perfect for people who has more $$ than sense. What is pointless, IMHO, is the Aston Martin (or shall I just say it out loud: TOYOTA) Cygnet. '06 Maserati GranSport MC Victory (#73) -- Sold '07 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT Duo-Select -- Just Arrived!! |

| I think the sole purpose of this car is to raise the "fleet average" for fuel economy.

Understood. But with the number of Cygnet sales (I'm sure they're flying off the AM shelf ) would it really make a bump (if any) on AM's fleet average??

They don't produce or sell a great number of AMs (about 8,000 annually) so sales would not have to be that high (they expect 20,000 but that's AM's estimate). Oh, and btw, Sir Sterling Moss has one, Cygnet that is.

It looks like a squashed up QP with a folding roof. Colour combo and fittings make the car look too heavy. The Ferrari version seems to me closer in its essence to a mini Ferrari than this one to a mini Maserati. 1934 - 1938 - 1982 - 2006 BigFoot's YouTube Channel dedicated to Maserati Maseratilife.com Moderator |
