Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and Maserati as a whole, so please be forgiving. Yesterday, I got myself a 2004 Maserati Spyder Cambiocorsa, from my father, but I also inherited a few flaws. 1) The lid of the storage box that is located above the subwoofer doesn't close, not a big deal, but it obstructs visibility with the roof up and is an inconvenience when in reverse. 2) The audio seems to be playing only from the one middle speaker, not all speakers and even when I crank up the volume to the maximum, it is very quite - what could be wrong? All of these things will have to be DIY fixes, since we don't have a Ferrari/Maserati dealer in my country whatsoever... Any input is appreciated, Aldiyar |

Sorry, don't know too much about the sound system. I would do a search on this site to see if there are any postings on it. Good luck!

Hi Guys, I noticed more problems with my Maserati. The first problem is that when I am driving around with the seat belt fastened and move around, the seat belt stretches but doesn't go back and this results in a useless thing, I need to feed the belt back slowly by hand (both seats). Any ideas? On a side note, just noticed that front and rear tires are different: Front: Michelin Pilot Sport 235/40/R18 Rear: Federal 595 RS-R 265/35/R18 A problem here? Wonder how my father didn't notice this when buying the car 3 years ago... p.s. all of these problems vanish when you put it in sport mode, mash the gas and just listen to the exhaust, I love this car!... 2004 Spyder CC F1- Grigio Nuvolari/Cuoio Leather Last edited by Maserati_Kazakhstan; 08-04-2012 at 03:00 PM. |

| Did you notice that the wheels are 2 inches different in width? Your tires are the correct size for the stock wheels.

Of course I noticed the width difference, I am concerned that not all tires are from one brand, different models and hence this could lead to handling problems and god knows what else... 2004 Spyder CC F1- Grigio Nuvolari/Cuoio Leather |

Oh, sorry. I've been enjoying a porter or two while waxing my car and didn't really read carefully. I'm not familiar with the Federal tire. Is the wear level near the same? Worst case scenario I would guess that you probably have more traction in the front and could powerslide your way to new rear tires. Dave, The level of wear is absolutely identical, as the car has been driven just 800 miles in 3 years! When in sport mode and manual gear shifting, I get quite a lot of wheel spin which MSP corrects, may be that just how the Federals are.

Also guys, I just got my license plates and by law I have to install a front license plate. Which is a dilemma, since I don't want to drill holes in the bumper. At the moment, the plate is shoved into the radiator grille, which I am afraid may affect engine air flow and/or cooling. I attached a picture for better illustration. Any suggestions? 2004 Spyder CC F1- Grigio Nuvolari/Cuoio Leather |

After a quick look on the internet I found some good reviews of the Federal 595 RS-R. They should hook up once they get warm and from what I can tell they should be the equal of the Michelin PS. Perhaps slowly increase cornering speeds to determine the slip points of the front vs. the back. You may not have any problems at all.

I am currently looking into an electronically controlled hideaway plate mounted into the lower apron of the front spoiler, but this might harm aerodynamics when the plate is raised for the cops...the best option would be a sticker "plate", but not sure if it legal in Kazakhstan! I will have a dig on the other forums! 2004 Spyder CC F1- Grigio Nuvolari/Cuoio Leather |

Something else to check is to see if the front/rear fader (if there is one) has the sound cranked all the way forward or all the way backward, assuming your car has front and rear speakers. Perhaps only one or the other set is not working. |

Indeed I do have the Auditorium set up. I looked in the trunk, but couldn't find anything! Should I remove all left rear trunk trim, or only the small piece that uncovers the CD Changer to find the amplifier? Also, I experimented with the fader - all the way to the front - zero sound at all, but all the way to the back I still get very very little almost nothing sound coming from the middle/woofer speaker... Apart from left rear of trunk, where could the amp be located guys? 2004 Spyder CC F1- Grigio Nuvolari/Cuoio Leather Last edited by Maserati_Kazakhstan; 08-07-2012 at 10:15 AM. |
