Default HELP - Changing bulbs in the fog lights

....guys. How big a job is this? How do I get at the bulbs? Anyone know what type of bulb they take, and if there is any problem subbing in an LED?

I looked at the fogs from the front, hoping there would be a screw to unbolt them for easy access but no such luck.

Are you talking about the parking lights? If so, those only go on when the car is turned off / light switch turned all the way to the left.

Not the parking lights - they face more to the side of the car. I'm talking about the fog light portion of the module that points forward and has the smooth clear lens with a reflector in behind the bulb.

OK- so I've done some searching and reading.

Apparently, even though my centre console has a "fog light" switch on it, my U.S. market car does not have fog lights. At least not on the front (even though the euro cars have them). I found a reference to a rear fog light, but I really don't know what you would use this for!

The light/reflector housing in the front bumper appears to have 2 sections to it. One has a clear lens and a reflector behind the bulb -- the other a textured opaque plastic cover. On the euro market cars, the housing with the reflector is used as a fog light. On U.S. cars, it's a turn signal.

Anyone looked behind the bumper to see if there is a seperate wiring harness connector there for the fog light function? I can't see them building a completely different wiring harness just for the U.S. spec cars....

Not sure about the other questions you had in this case, but the idea behind the rear fog light would be to make it possible for people behind you to be able to see that there's a car in front of them in the fog.

I thought that was the purpose of my brake & running lights

Will have to search for this rear "fog light" when I have a second.

There is an unbelievable purpose for the rear fog light, it's designed for stupid a@@ redneck type tailgaters or the civic/subaru owners who love to come really close to your car from behind and mainly in really bad weather. I've used it several times and most of them back off thinking you are having a led foot on the brake pedal. I love that switch, used to be a sparky/electrician and never taught I'll like a switch ever in my life once I'd quit that trade but the maserati brake fog switch is something really useful.

Where is the rear fog light located on the car?

Correct, USA versions of the car do not have front fog lights.

Side note, on my last Mer Benz, it had the rear fog light as well. Prior to me owing one, I always noticed it and thought the old folks driving MB's had their foot on the break and one light burnt out since the fog light only shows one side brighter... go figure!

I did not even know we had rear fog lights... now I have to run down stairs and look.... fun!

It's just a higher density brake light once you manually turn it on from the center console, a dash foglight indicator will appear. Your headlight switch has to be turned towards the steering column, not all positions of this hl switch will activate the rear brake fog light but to confirm you watch the dash lights make sure a new icon is present or look in the rear mirror while pushing the center console fog light switch.
As easy as can be. Enjoy.

You can replace the yellow front marker lights/fog lights? and have a local shop enable them on for you all the time. I got Daytona my local indy shop to out in white LED T10 bulbs and enable the side marker light to be on all the time.

FlyinBrian, any luck changing the turn signal or fog light bulbs? I'm trying to do the same, but I don't see a way to access them without removing the under shield.
