Just bought a strange looking 86 Spyder. Any idea what it is? I was told it was a special Abarth but can't confirm it. Note there is no provision for a soft top. If it is a backyard mod, someone did a good job.

Maserati Bi-Turbo Spyder - mid-late 80's model. I remember seeing it on E-bay several times from a So-Cal seller. the mod. is not stock - the car had real nice cosmetics, how are the mechanicals???

Some good some not so. Body and interior in very good shape. California car. Seen some years of neglect in the engine department. Replaced wires, plugs, rotor, cap and that helped. Removed all cats. Working on the 86 carb now. No boost yet.
Tracked down the owner that had the body customized. The top was eliminated by EuroClassics in Pasadena, CA. It is really pretty. I have won Best in Class at a few car shows this year.
